A man was stoned to death allegedly by his three nephews after a drinking spree Friday night in Brgy. Mabini, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.

The victim was identified by the Pontevedra police as Ronnie Ortizo, 50.

Investigations showed that the victim and his three nephews identified as Benjie Ortizo and Ludi Eschamba, both 29, and Alfred Abobot, 25, were drinking, shortly before the incident.

PO2 Roland Macoy, Pontevedra PNP Desk Officer, said they also found out that three suspects hit their uncle with stones, and that had caused his death.

This was after Ortizo reportedly hacked Abobot with a cane cutter for unknown reasons. However, police investigators said they suspect it was triggered by drunkenness.

Eschamba and Ortizo immediately surrendered to the Pontevedra Police Station, while Abobot who was hacked in the left side of his face, gave himself up on Sunday after treatment at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Hospital in Bacolod City .

The three suspects are now detained at the Pontevedra Police Station Jail.

Also in Pontevedra, an unidentified person threw a stone yesterday at a Ceres Liner passenger bus with body number 5969, while it was passing the highway of Brgy. San Juan .

Police reports said a bus passengers whose identity had not been established as of yesterday, was hit in the right side of his face. He was rushed to the Valladolid District Hospital.*GPB
