| Gov. Emilio Macias II has maintained his position on the establishment of the Sidlakan Negros Village that had initially been met with objections from local government units and the public.
Macias told his critics that the Freedom Park is a wholesome place for the family, and relocating the establishment of the Buglasan booths “is not the end for the world for them.”
In Dumaguete City , the use of the Quezon Park was questioned by those who say it is “beyond the commerce of man.”
The governor, however, stressed that he merely established permanent structures for all LGUs in the province to display their wares the whole year at the Buglasan village.
Macias said that if they want the Buglasan festival to be held in March or in any month of the year, it's fine with him.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Agriculture Office conducted a dry-run on the operation of the Bagsakan Center from midnight until 9 a.m. last week.
It was conducted in cooperation with the Dumaguete City Market Enterprises and the City Agriculturist Office.
Macias encouraged the public to group themselves and buy in bulk to avail of wholesale prices offered by farmer-producers.*JG
