A man was hit and killed allegedly by a speeding automobile driven by a medical representative Thursday afternoon in Sitio Looc, Brgy. Giligaon, Siaton, Negros Oriental.

The victim was identified as Hermie Belarmino, 37, single, jobless, of said place, and the driver as Annie Luz Fuliga, 26, single, of Davao City , an employee of the United Laboratories Inc.

Police investigations disclosed that the accident happened about 12:30 p.m. when the Toyota Sedan from Bayawan City en route to Dumaguete City , was coasting along the national highway.

The victim had suddenly crossed the road when he was hit by the car, investigation also showed.

He was brought to the Siaton District Hospital and later transferred to Holy Child Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

The vehicle driver voluntarily surrendered to the Siaton Police Station.

A conference was held yesterday between the driver and the family of the victim for a possible amicable settlement, police added.*RG
