Thieves strike in Bacolod

More than P150,000 worth of properties and cash were lost to thieves in Bacolod City during the weekend, the police said yesterday.

Bjorn Aguilar of Jerusalem Street , Bethany Court, Brgy. Estefania, in Bacolod, told the police that a certain Jerry Duran took her P60,000 laptop and Nokia 9500 worth P40,000 after identifying himself as a messenger of her employer, identified only as Titay Y, at about 4 p.m. Saturday, police records show.

Aguilar told Police Station 4 investigator PO1 Orlando Caporal that Duran, who did not give any address, fled after taking the items.

Meanwhile, Joseph Gerald Marañon, 46, reported to Police Station 4 that his two helpers, who are from Binalbagan town, Negros Occidental, stole his gold butterfly pendant worth P25,000, an I-pod worth P10,000, and P1,000 in cash, from his rented townhouse at Villa Soledad, Brgy. Estefania, in Bacolod , at about 8 p.m. Friday.

The police said they are still investigating the incident.*PP
