| High Tea at Del Pilar
It was high tea at sugar sweet and baroness too, Inday Maitos Aldeguer's manor Hacienda del Pilar, where cousins and close friends gathered to welcome “Baisanas”, long-time resident of bella Costa Rica, Magda Garcia-Li, Lalaland's hard worker Rose “Ring-Ring” Teves Paraiso.
It was a strictly “hen” affair with one “rooster” with a camera reminiscing of the good old days when Bais was at its height of good elegant times (seems like that's topic of conversation at parties are these days). There was also a lot of catching up on lives at the other side of the globe.
Typical of all welcome home parties, what was longed for and the palates missed for years, “high tea”, Bais style, is not made up of “crumpets and tea” but a mishmash of Filipino and European afternoon fare.
For the enjoyment of the ladies, Inday Maitos and her co-host Carol U. Teves prepared a buffet of food that put diet to the wind. There were generous servings of pancit palabok, fresh vegetable lumpia, empanaditas, finger chicken and tuna sandwiches, biko and white chocolate cheesecake to die for. Of course, there was exquisite brewed coffee, and red wine to down the goodies.
Dressed in afternoon chic were natch! Inday Maitos, Carol, Pichina, Maricris, Bona and Maite Teves, the “festejadas” Ring-Ring paraiso and Magda Garcia-Li, Gina Vicente, Ula Villanueva, Heidi Garcia, Mariton Carballo, Chiqui Yoldi, Fining Llanderal and riving in from Bacolod for the afternoon soiree Roxanne Parsons and Cookie Montenegro did a lot of catching up. A few days later the same group and more got together again to celebrate another visiting from Bilbao cousin Menchu Llanderal's natal day.
Family is always nice to have around so stay long ladies!…Nous!*
