‘Most wanted' nabbed

A fraternity gang leader and one of the most-wanted persons in northern Negros, was arrested recently in San Carlos City , Negros Occidental, the police said.

Supt. Harold Tuzon yesterday identified the suspect, Alvin Binghay, who has two pending arrest warrants for frustrated murder and grave coercion, and is the number two most wanted person in San Carlos City .

Tuzon, who is the police chief of San Carlos City , said Judges Moises Nifras and Franklin Cobol have recommended bail of P200,000 and P12,000, respectively, for the two cases filed against Binghay.

Police records show that Binghay is the leader of the CRIPS fraternity and is reportedly involved in robbery-hold-up incidents in Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental and San Carlos City , Negros Occidental.

Tuzon also reported the apprehension of Alfredo Purisima in Sitio Caticlan, Brgy. Rizal, San Carlos , who has a pending arrest warrant issued by Judge Edgardo de los Santos for attempted rape.

De los Santos also recommended bail of P200,000 for Purisima who is now sharing a detention cell with Binghay at the San Carlos City Police Station.*GPB

Man collared for marijuana

Two suspects for illegal possession of drugs and firearms cases were arrested in Talisay City , Negros Occidental, the police said yesterday.

Supt. Joseph Thomas Martir said Glorenil Pamulaya, 27, was arrested in the public market of Talisay City Friday, for having eight sticks of suspected marijuana cigarets.

Martir also reported the arrest of Rio Tano at Hacienda Minuluan, Brgy. Matab-ang, Talisay City , for possession of a .38 caliber revolver with two live ammunition.

He also said a wanted person identified as a certain Mik-Mik Porras, 20, was also apprehended Saturday by the police in Brgy. Dos Hermanas , Talisay, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Fernando Elumba for the crime of frustrated murder.

Elumba set bail of P200,000 for Porras.

The three arrested suspects are now detained at the Talisay City Police Station Jail.*GPB
