ESP to highlight Bacolod
as next wave city for BPO
 

Bacolod City will be featured as one of the “next wave cities” for business process outsourcing in the 8th e-Services Philippines Global Sourcing Conference and Exhibition on Feb. 11 to 12 at the SMX Convention Center in Manila .

The city's participation in the e-Services Philippines , the Department of Trade and Industry's annual international exhibit and conference for the ICT industry, has been approved by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, chairperson of the Bacolod-Negros Occidental Federation for Information and Communications Technology, said.

The theme is “Outsourcing Centers of Excellence,” and will feature outsourcing centers of excellence and emerging players and locations in the outsourcing industry.

Tholons, an investment , advisory and management firm for business, knowledge and IT services globalization, named the Top 50 Emerging Outsourcing Cities in the World in 2007, which included three in the Philippine – Cebu City (4 th ), Pasig City (23 rd ) and Baguio City (36 th ).

The e-Services Philippines, which has attracted more than 160 exhibitors and 2,000 conference attendees yearly, will be spearheaded by the DTI's Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions, Tholons, and Business Process Association of the Philippines.*NLG
