IN DAUIN
Ex-hubby hacks
Belgian national
BY RENE GENOVE

A Belgian national was hacked by the husband of his girlfriend in Brgy. Maayong Tubig, Dauin, Negros Oriental, early this week, the police said yesterday.

Jan Frederick Cornelis Winkelman, 64, married, and temporarily residing in Brgy. Maayong Tubig, sustained wounds in his waist inflicted by Joey Banagua, 27, of the same place.

Initial police investigation revealed that the incident happened at about 9 p.m., when Banagua's estranged wife, Feliza, invited Winkelman to her house where she lives with her two children, after she and Joey separated.

When the victim was about to enter the house, Banagua, armed with a sword, met him at the door and kicked him out of the house.

Winkelman was able to run and ask for help from relatives of Feliza.*RG
