Reach out to
others, bishop calls
BY NIDA BUENAFE

Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra enjoined everyone in the diocese to leave behind alienation and separation and start reaching out to one another in celebration of the Jubilee year.

In a message, the bishop said that the events outlined in the calendar of activities were designed to make the celebration meaningful and encourage all faithful to imbibe the spirit of the Jubilee.

Everyone should follow the disposition of the Jubilee, to go beyond the individual selves, to leave behind alienation and separation and reach out to one another, Navarra said.

With the granting of papal benediction and plenary indulgence to those who will actively participate in the celebration, the Jubilee Secretariat headed by Vicar General Msgr. Victorino Rivas organized a monthly pilgrimage of parishioners from different vicariates in the diocese starting this month until September, schedule of the Jubilee celebration showed.

The Central Vicariate will hold pilgrimages the whole month of February; North Vicariate, March; South Vicariate, April; East Vicariate, May; Bago Vicariate, June; Silay Vicariate, July; Hinigaran Vicariate, August, and Victorias Vicariate, September.

Rivas said they will coordinate with the organizers of the Bacolod MassKara Festival for the culmination activity of the Jubilee year in October 24.

He said the celebration will be more colorful and vibrant with church activities interspersed with those of the MassKara.*NAB
