Puno seeks dialog
to end protest
BY CARLA GOMEZ

The Supreme Court has asked lower court employees to call off their protest over what they call the unfair distribution of benefits and to dialog with SC officials, Judge Ray Allan Drilon, Regional Trial Court of Bacolod City executive judge, said yesterday.

A text message sent by leaders of the protest to their members said Chief Justice Ricardo Puno has called for a dialog to be attended by representatives of all court employees associations on Feb. 8.

With this development all employees of the lower courts are requested to hold in abeyance the wearing of black on Monday, Feb. 4, to give way to a possible solution to the problem, the message said.

The lower court employees are protesting their much lower benefits compared to that of those working for the Supreme Court.

Many employees of Regional and Municipal Trial Courts in Bacolod and Negros Occidental joined the protest last Monday by wearing black outfits.*CPG
