| Gov. Emilio Macias II yesterday made his State of the Province Address and enumerated the projects his administration had undertaken during his last six months in office.
Macias said he has implemented a two eight-hour work shift in the provincial government, and crafted together with the public sector the Provincial Executive-Legislative Agenda that serves as guide for development efforts.
The governor also noted in his SOPA that by re-routing the flow of traffic, parking of any type of vehicles is prohibited along Kagawasan Avenue and the nearby Freedom Park where the Capitol is located.
He has also established the first upland freshwater aqua-culture production and training center in Dangula, Barangay Catigugan, Siaton - the Government Agricultural Development Center .
Macias said he has also created the Balanan Lake Development Authority to set policies and guidelines for the use of the different facilities around the lake, including the provision of livelihood activities for the residents.
He also lauded the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for the invaluable contributions in helping prepare the different programs and projects of the province.
He said the construction of the Sidlakang Negros Village , Showroom and Trade Center , has enabled local governments to have a permanent home for their products, cultural heritage, and arts crafts exhibits.
Macias said he will continue to implement Formula One for Health of which the province is a recipient of an P84 million grant from the European Commission; repair and rehabilitate the provincial road network before the onset of the rainy season, and shall continue to pursue the realization of the objectives that they have set at the beginning of his term.
He also vowed to implement the Provincial Health Insurance of Negros Oriental for indigent residents, strengthen the delivery of health services for the acquisition of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging system, and to complete the upgrading of the Mariano Perdices Memorial Collesium and the Lamberto L. Macias Sports and Cultural Center.*RG
