| Board Member Enrique Miguel Lacson (Neg. Occ., 5th District) recently met with municipal and barangay officials led by Mayor Francisco Nazareno as part of his district-wide consultation in Moises Padilla town, a press release from his office said.
The consultation included a medical mission led by Dr. Ernesto Tumimbang of the Provincial Mobile Health Unit and the turnover of 10 pig gilts, one boar and artificial insemination paraphernalia for the Moises Padilla breeding center by provincial veterinarian Dr. Renante Decena, as part of the Provincial Animal Genetic Improvement Program.
Lacson said the district consultation will help him know the needs of his constituents in the district. Its results will be the basis of programs and projects in the district, he added in the press release.
He appealed for the support of the municipal and barangay officials in reclaiming the position of Moises Padilla as the livestock capital of the province.
Lacson is scheduled to hold consultations in Binalbagan, Himamaylan City, La Castellana, Isabela and Hinigaran, the press release added.*

tour-guiding gab
Twenty-two professionals in Western Visayas completed the first ever 15-day tour guiding seminar-workshop, Saturday, at the Casino Hotel in Bacolod City, a press release from organizers said.
The event was aimed at training participants to obtain a license as local tour guides, who have to undergo an accreditation from the Department of Tourism, and an assessor’s training with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, to become full-fledged tour guides for both inbound and outbound tourists.
The graduates are Aliza Donesa, George de La Cruz, Amelia Quingco, Anne Guerrero, Al Regno, Arnel Ginete, Cristine Mansinares, Daisy Ganz, Dino Altobano, Elmie Cabanag, Eveline Porter, Evangeline Arnaiz, Jeffrey Navarro, Jeffrry Encoy, Jocelyn Sarnicula, Joe Alingasa, John Cordero, Nelia Ventura, Nilo Ogatis, RJ Salabas, Thea Jison, and Yvette Andion.
Adjudged as best tour guides were Alingasa, Donesa, Mansinares, Quingco and De La Cruz. Ogatis topped the mock tour, De La Cruz was number one in the over-all written exam, and Alingasa was the best speaker, the press release said.
The certificates of graduation were given by Helen Camarista-Catalbas of the Department of Tourism Regional Office, tourism officers Jennylind Cordero of Negros Occidental, Imogene Kana-an -- Bacolod City, and Ver Pacete - Silay City, and Japhet Masculino, who represented Gov. Isidro Zayco, the press release added.*

Jay-R Siaboc to
serenade shoppers
Jay-R Siaboc, Pinoy Dream Academy’s first runner-up, will serenade shoppers at the opening day of the Great 3-Day Sale of SM City Bacolod at 4 p.m. Friday at the Northwing Event Centre of the mall.
Siaboc is the vocalist of a band in Cebu, and also plays the guitar and drums. He is the youngest of five children. His father is a jeepney driver and his mother works at the Cebu pier ticketing office. His goal was to help his family financially when he auditioned for Pinoy Dream Academy, a press release from the mall said.
Siaboc first appeared on television on “Your Song”, and then played the role of Jeffrey in the mini-series Pangarap na Bituin. He then portrayed the role of neptune agent Enzo in ABS-CBN’s Palos.
Meanwhile, up to 50 percent off on great selections from the mall’s various tenants and affiliates will be offered during the Great 3-Day Sale from Friday until Aug. 31 at SM City Bacolod.

A personality enhancement seminar will be conducted by the LDR School of Music and Arts on August 31, at the Hebron Apostolic Ministry of Pentecost at Sto. Niño, San Juan Street, Bacolod City.
