Reset Recto arraignment

A motion to reset the arraignmentof his former live-in partner will be filed by Pulupandan Mayor Magdaleno Peña, he said yesterday.

Peña had filed a criminal case for direct assault against Marie Roxanne Recto and the Bago Municipal Trial Court in Cities has set the arraignment  on Aug. 8.

In his motion, the mayor  said that  since lawyers Evalyn Ursua and Rowena Guanzon cannot represent Rectoin the case, he, out of “chivalry and goodwill”,moved to reset the arraignment to Sept. 30.

He said he was filing the motion to give Recto sufficient time to look for a lawyer to represent her in the case.*
