One love!

NOUS

A bright sun eluded the skies the whole day by playing “peek-a-boo” with the weather. “Now you saw it now you don’t!” but since their “one love” conquered all, dark stormy clouds gave way to a cool afternoon sun when it was time for the “I dos!”

Balmy, sleepy, picturesque Amlan town’s century old Saint Andrew, the Apostle Parish Church got “all dolled up” in the Judeo-Christian tradition with canopies, arches and bright blossoms lining up the aisles for the union of two of it’s more important clans, the Villanueva and Yrad-Acabal.

Michelle Arabella Andrada Villanueva, youngest child  and only daughter of former Press Secretary under the Ramos administration, now Postmaster General Hector “Chito” Villanueva and Angelina “Lyn” Andrada de Villanueva, tied the knot and said their “I dos” with Isagani “Chad” Yrad-Acabal, son of Jacqueline Yrad Acabal. She was simply lovely in a white satin strapless gown with a headdress and veil so, so “20s”, a Mia Farrow” in “The Great Gatsby”, just as F. Scott Fitzgerald would have envisioned, and he was dapper in a Thai silk cream Nehru number, both by Manila designer Nono Palmos.

The Acabal-Villanueva entourage was composed of principal sponsors: President Fidel Ramos (who sent a proxy) and Rosamond Amigo, Chairman Emilio Yap and Gloria Andrada, Ramon Isberto and Patria Chiong, Edgardo Lopez and Elsie Equio, and Geoffrey Siplon with Narcissa Torres, best man was Jose Manuel Carmona, matron of honor Regina Yatco Serrano, maid of honor Aesha Eleyna Villanueva, groomsmen were Richard de Vos, Nigel Siplon, Alexander Villanueva, David Tan and Miles Yrad partnered with bridesmaids Evalyn Espinosa, Maricel Malacaman, Johanna Siplon, Luzviminda Tipan and Roxanne Yrad.

The secondary sponsors comprised of veil – Ma. Elena Escalona-Diaz and Clyde Yrad, and cord - Marivic Golamco-Moritz and Timmy Yrad. Coin bearer Job Yrad, ring bearer Con Emil Yrad and flower girls Bettina Benitez, Julianna Cabili, Alexandra Lopez, Sequoia Akysha Villanueva and Patricia Liane Uyking completed the bridal train. Casa Cittadini and Casa Miani Children’s Choir provided the heavenly tunes.

Oriental Negros families that is synonymous with high society, Teves, Romero, Remollo, Villanueva, Larena, Montenegro, Diaz, Yrad and the like, with a sizeable number of equally important Manila personas feasted at the Villanueva beachfront chateau. A tres continental buffet lavished with Spanish red and white wines, spirits and beer with many dancing and kicking sand (so very “Boracayish”) to exotic drum beats and disco music made the night memorable.

To Chad and Michelle, may your “one love” last your life times…………………NOUS!
