Farm helper killed

A farm helper was shot dead by his drinking buddy during an argument in Bacolod City, during the weekend, the police said yesterday.

Alberto Eñosa, 35, of Purok Arceo, Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod, was shot by Conrado Vicera, alias “Dado.” with a .9mm caliber pistol, while they were drinking in Brgy. Mansilingan, at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Senior Insp. Reynaldo Auditor, Police Station 7 commander, said.

Eñosa, who was hit in the chest, was declared dead on arrival at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Vicera, a trisikad maker from La Salle Ville, also in Brgy. Mansilingan, who had introduced himself as a Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Bongcayao Brigade member, fled after the shooting.

Auditor said Vicera fired three shots but hit Eñosa only once.

Auditor said Vicera also has a pending frustrated homicide case at their station and a homicide charge with the police in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

Empty .9mm shells and Vicera’s motorcycle that he used to flee, were later recovered by the police.

Auditor said they will file murder charges against Vicera at the City Prosecutor’s Office today.*PP

Decomposing body found

The decomposing body of a man believed to be in 50’s was found floating in a mangrove area of Brgy. Lantad in Silay City, Negros Occidental, Saturday.

Supt. Jerry Bartolome, Silay police chief, yesterday described the man to be in his 50’s, wearing black short pants and white long sleeves. The body was already in an advance state of decomposition, he said.

The body is at the Manapla Funeral Parlor in Talisay City awaiting identification by his family and relatives.

On the other hand, seven stolen steel chairs owned by the Mambulac Elementary School were recovered by the police in a canal in Brgy. Mambulac in Silay City.

The police arrested Frederick Amante, 21,who was tagged as a suspect in the theft. His companion identified as a certain Tabong Valverde managed to escape, Bartlome said.*GPB
