Bacolod-based housewares exporter Rolando Madera of Babylan's Cococraft was among the 16 winners in the "Pondo sa Sipag, Puhunan sa Tiyaga" Nationwide Search for Outstanding Negosyanteng Pinoy organized by the Nationalista Party.
Babylan's Cococraft,in Villa Esperanza, Brgy. Tangub, producesboxes, jars, desk accessories, frames, placemats and bread tray.
Madera was chosen as the winner for Region 6.

regions: Villar
Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia Villar said their family, through their property firm, Vista Land and Lifescapes Inc., is investing in the regions to help propel development outside Metro Manila.
“We're investing in the regions. In every major city, we are investing. (Senate President Manuel Villar) believes that we have to go and invest in our regions to show the people that we really have faith in the country,” she said.
Villar was among the guests at the meeting of the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders' Association-Negros Occidental Chapter in Bacolod City Saturday. The Villars made their fortune in real estate development. 


PICPA to hold two seminars
The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants-Negros Occidental Chapter, in coordination with PICPA-Metro Manila Chapter, will hold two seminars for CPAs on August 8 and 9, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Bacolod Pavillon Hotel and Restaurant, a press release from the group said.
The first will be a seminar on Philippine Financial Reporting Standards that will discuss proper presentation of financial statements for each nature of industry and significant accounting policies together with schedules. The second will tackle "Professional Ethics and Good Governance."
