John Rommel Uy of Bacolod City and Melanie Poticar of Silay topped yesterday’s 3-Km Run of the 2008 Panaad Challenge, leaving behind their pursuers from different cities and towns in the province.

Uy timed 16:07.39, running from the Panaad starting line down to Alijis Barangay Hall and back to Panaad stadium, to finish ahead of the pack in the boys category while Poticar clocked 16:48.69 to bring home the title in the girls’ division.

Reporting to the finish line at 16:11.65 was Enry Solibio of La Carlota who settled for second place while Escalante runner Pets Niño Bascar was in third place with his 16:30.50 time.

In the girls’ department, Escalante runners Estela Alvarez Gelardine Bayadog finished second and third place, respectively. Alvarez finished with 17:17.86 time while Bayadog registered 18:05.22.*NAB
