| A jobs fair will be conducted by ABS-CBN Bacolod, in partnership with Gaisano City Supermall, tomorrow, at the Events Atrium of the mall, a press release from the television station said.
Applicants who pre-registered yesterday and from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today will be given priority.
The event is a yearly initiative of the News and Current Affairs Department of ABSCBN, and those interested may call Tel. No. 434-2357, the press release added.*

20 to avail of welding training
Twenty residents of Hinigaran town in Negros Occidental have qualified for a skills training on welding provided by the office of Rep. Ignacio Arroyo Jr. (Neg. Occ., 5th District), in cooperation with the Technical Education Skills Development Authority, a press release from the solon’s office said.
Arroyo has set aside funds from his Priority Development Funds for the training, aimed at helping his constituents earn a living, and land jobs here and abroad.
Arroyo also encouraged the trainees to be serious in learning training skills. His office and the TESDA have been coordinating to grant scholarships for residents in his district, the press release said.
Arroyo has also assisted thousands of scholars and continued to provide skills training programs, the press release added.*

Storytelling tilt launched
A story-telling contest called “My SM Story” was launched by SM and Philippine Star to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the mall, a press release from the company said.
Mall shoppers and readers of the national broadsheet can share their mall experience in not more than 1,000 words.
A prize of P5,000 each will be given to 20 winners, whose articles will also be published in the Philippine Star every other Sunday beginning May 4, except for the month of October, when the stories will be published weekly, and the last winning story will be published in December 21, the press release said.
Generations of families – the Revillas, Hensons, Roa-Punos, Badidles and the Reynoso-Antons – have also shared how SM has become part of their lives. SM City Bacolod will also soon feature the story of the Sarabia family which owns chains of Sarabia Optical in various SM Supermalls.
