Drugs court judge
assumes new post

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Regional Trial Court Branch 30 presiding Judge Rafael Crescencio Tan Jr. will assume office as Regional State Administrator of the Supreme Court today.

Tan was to assume his new position on April 21, but he requested for a one week extension because two drugs cases were scheduled for promulgation in his sala Friday.

Taking his place in an acting capacity is Judge Marie Rose Inocando Paras, presiding judge of RTC Branch 42.

Tan said although relieved from RTC Branch 30, he is still the judge on record even if he is designated to head the pilot project of the Supreme Court.

In last Friday’s promulgation, Judge Tan sentenced Ferdinand Tañamor to 12 years, 6 months and one day imprisonment for illegal possession of one sachet of shabu, and acquitted Julius Torillo for the crime of selling the banded substance.*JG
