Armed men take
fertilizer from bodega

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

Seven unidentified armed men ransacked the bodega of an hacienda in Brgy. Punta Mesa, Manapla, while a robbery hold-suspect was arrested in the town, the police said yesterday.

Police investigations show that the bonnet- earing men carted away 15 sacks of UREA fertilizer from the bodega of Hacienda Azcona in Manapla, Thursday.

Manapla police probers are verifying reports that it was an inside job, although there are claims that the suspects were members of the New People’s Army.

Troopers of the 6th Regional Mobile Group, meanwhile, apprehended yesterday  a certain Ramil Berito in Brgy. San Pablo, Manapla, by virtue of an arrest warrant for the crime of robbery with homicide.

Manapla police chief, Senior Inspector Jose Laboyo, said the group of Berito is linked to several robbery-hold-up incidents in Cadiz City and Manapla.

A homemade shotgun, locally known as sulpak, was also recovered from Benito.

Laboyo said Berito was also positively identified as one of the suspects in the hold-up of Keru Burger in Manapla last month.

Police investigations also showed that two companions of Berito who were arrested previously, are now detained at the Provincial Jail.*GPB
