Bacolod’s progress is undeniably fast-paced as shown by the recent opening of two big hotels, blessing of two new schools, and restaurants and specialty shops have been sprouting like mushrooms.

Tourist arrivals have reached an unprecedented all-time high this year, keeping our hotels fully booked, almost month after month. What more can we ask for?

The dedication and launching of the Center for Allied Paramedical Studies Inc. was held recently at their main office at the St. Francis Centre. The ribbon-cutting was done by its officers led by their chairman, patron of the arts and founder of the University of the Philippines repertory Bhen Cervantes, its president Jose Marques, and COO Rovi Juan Marques.

The dedication of the classroom facilities and offices was led by Rev. Dr. Armando Kole, senior pastor of Bacolod Evangelical Church. Also present were Lourdes Rojas, former vice mayor Renecito and Grace Novero, Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, TESDA provincial director Yolanda Porschwitz, and friends.

The School for Creative Beginners recently held its moving up ceremony at the Agape Hall, Carmelite Monastery. The Disney-themed affair was attended by close to 400 parents and relatives, who saw their little tots perform on stage.

The teachers, headed by directress Lulu Cano-Sarrosa and Ina Cano-Aglipay also wore Disney costumes.

The dedication of Chinky’s of their 10th branch at 888 Chinatown Mall was done by Pastor Aster Dedoroy and attended by close family and friends. Rogelito and Bernadette Sy welcomed the guests. Chef is Ryan Dominic.*
