3 teeners tagged in
robbery cases collared
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Three teenagers believed responsible for the spate of snatching and robbery incidents in Dumaguete City were arrested by the police on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 34 Judge Rosendo Bandal Jr.

The suspects were identified as Rolly Beraña, Jesus Gadiane Jr., and Raymund Abines, all of Dumaguete.

Lani Joy Albina, one of the victims, positively identified them as the ones who robbed her in Cadawinonan in September last year.

Abines is also facing charges of illegal possession of firearms while Gadiane is also facing drug charges for possessing rolled marijuana cigarets when apprehended.

Abines admitted having held up PO1 Ramses Binarao seven months ago at San Moritz, in Agan-an, Sibulan

Meanwhile, a resident of Mabinay, Negros Oriental claimed he was used as an errand boy by a police officer to buy a sachet of shabu in Barangay Looc, Dumaguete Wednesday, when he was arrested.

Ace Cadiz Cabual, 26, was arrested for illegal possession of a sachet of a suspected shabu, a violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Cabual said it was an aviation police officer who requested him to buy the stuff because they are friends. He, however, said he could not remember the identity of the policeman.*JG
