Creation of city
labor council ok’d

The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod passed a resolution Wednesday requesting the mayor to convene the Bacolod City Labor-Management Council as provided under City Ordinance No. 354, Series of 2003.

This is an Ordinance Promoting Strong Collaborative Relationship Between Employers and Employees in Bacolod City, Creating the Bacolod City Labor-Management Council, Defining its Powers and Functions and Appropriating Funds for its Operation.

The resolution authored by Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr. calls for the establishment of strong collaborative relations between workers/employees and employers, and to ensure equal work opportunities regardless of sex, race or creed. 

‘Fake CENECO IDs
being distributed’

The camp of Central Negros Electric Cooperative candidate Andres Leonardia said they received a report about the distribution of fake CENECO identification cards in connection with the district elections tomorrow.

Leonardia is running for director of District IV or Bacolod East, covering  Brgys. Villamonte, Montevista, Alangilan, Granada, Estefania, Vista Alegre, Mansilingan and Abkasa, against Edward Gasambelo.

“We have information from a reliable source that a group of unscrupulous persons are causing the printing out of fake CENECO IDs….” Leonardia’s counsel, Lorendo Dilag, said in a letter to CENECO OIC-general manager Edwin Montemayor yesterday.

WV has 1,114 BnBs

Western Visayas has 1,114 Botika ng Barangays selling low-priced generic over the counter drugs and eight prescription drugs, a government press release said.

The eight prescriptions drugs sold in the BnBs are amoxicillin 500 mg, cotrimoxazole, salbutamol, captopril, amoxicillin 250 mg/5ml, metoprolol, glibenclamide and metformin.

The BnBs serve as the distribution network of the Department of Health in coordination with the Philippine International Trading Corporation to ensure accessibility of these drugs, the press release said.
