Former brgy head dies
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Former Bacolod Barangay 38 Captain Romeo Escalona passed away at about 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Escalona, 64, was former barangay kagawad of Brgy. 38 before he was elected barangay captain and served for two terms.

He was also a former executive assistant of Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

His sudden demise shocked his co-workers as he had been with them for lunch that day and was said to be in a very good mood.

Escalona is survived by his wife, Norma, and two daughters, Annamore Escalona-Melocoton and Argee Escalona.

Norma said her husband is believed to have died from a heart attack or hypertension. He had a heart infection, and was also asthmatic aside from being diabetic, she added.*CGS
