| Another policeman is being investigated for allegedly threatening a minor with a gun in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, Tuesday.
PO1 Manuel Camayodo, a member of the Valladolid Police Station who is temporarily assigned at a police outpost in Brgy. San Jose, Sipalay City, was accused of threatening with a gun a 14-year-old, who, with his companions, was on his way home early Tuesday morning from a benefit dance in Brgy. Canturay.
Camayodo told DYEZ, however, that the allegations against him was not true, but admitted having consumed two bottles of beer then.
Two weeks earlier, PO1 Alberto Estacion was also accused of manhandling the two-year-son of a Maranao trader at the public plaza of La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
Senior Supt. Rosendo Franco, provincial police director, yesterday ordered Chief Inspector Arnel Arpon, Sipalay police chief, to investigate the allegations against Camayodo, and result on their investigations as soon as possible.
Board Member Renato Gustilo, chairperson of the Committee on Peace and Order of the Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan, yesterday encouraged parents of the minors to pursue formal complaints against the policemen involved in the incidents.
Estacion, a member of the Don Salvador Benedicto Police Station, returned to duty after the lapse of his 15-day restriction.
Franco said they cannot file administrative charges against Estacion without a formal complaint against him, which should be initiated by the parents of the complainant.
PO1 Jade Gimay, a member of the La Castellana police, is also being investigated by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, allegedly for indiscriminate firing, in front of the town police station last week.
The two incidents reportedly contributed to the relief of Senior Inspector Raymond Maningo as La Castellana police chief and the designation of Inspector Teddy Velez, deputy director of the 612nd Provincial Mobile Group, to replace him, in an acting capacity.*GPB
