Uncle hunted for laborer’s death
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

A laborer was shot dead allegedly by his uncle in Brgy. Jonob-Jonob, Escalante City, in an incident that the police said was caused by a family feud, Tuesday night.

Killed was Herman Maneja, 34, while the suspect, who was identified as Efren Maneja, 48, was still at-large as of yesterday.

Police investigations showed that Herman succumbed to three gunshot wounds that caused his death.

Herman reportedly got mad when his uncle threatened his grandmother with a gun that he fired twice later.

He went to the house of his uncle to confront him and failing to find him, he reportedly went wild and destroyed some of the personal belongings of Efren, who retaliated by shooting his nephew when they met later, police investigations also showed.

The incident is still being investigated by the Escalante Police Station.*GPB
