| A blood-letting activity called “Dugo Mo, Kabuhi Ko,” will be held by the Operation Tulong Task Force of Aksyon Radyo at 10 a.m. tomorrow, at the Activity Center of Lopue’s East Centre, in Bacolod City, a press release from the station said.
The event is in cooperation with the Provincial Health Office-Provincial Voluntary Blood Services Program, Lopue’s East Centre and Lopue’s Araneta, and a private pharmaceutical firm, the press release added.*

Lions council elects officers
The Council of Lions Clubs Presidents of Negros held its election of officers at the Sugarland Hotel in Bacolod recently, a press release from the group said.
Elected and proclaimed by Lions Committee on Election chairperson Tony Uy were: Betty Ditching – chairman, Mila Ong – executive vice chairman, Dr. Ephraim Estacion – vice chairman for North Negros, Dr. Bert Laydo – vice chairman for Central Negros, Vangie Magallanes for South Negros, Christine David – secretary, Sonny Boy Orofil – treasurer, Terry Hechanova – auditor and Perla Leonaria – public information officer.
The Lions Comelec is composed of Uy – chairman, with Rene Novero, Manny Jalandoni, Pons Manayon and Nenita Estrella, as members, the press release added.*

CHO conducts ‘Operation Tuli’
The Bacolod City Health Office headed by Dr. Salome Biñas recently launched “Operation Tuli” in the barangays, where boys were circumcised for free after undergoing screening, a City Hall press release said.
So far, 659 boys have availed of the program.
They are: 58 from Barangay Singcang-Airport; 34 – Sum-ag; 15 – Villamonte; 51 – Tangub; 15 – Felisa; 76 – Handumanan; 39 – Villa Esperanza; 9 – Tangub; 104 – Mansilingan and Paglaum; 47 – Punta Taytay; 6 – Cabug; 23 – Alangilan; 55 – Granada; 7 – Estefania; 31 – Pahanocoy; and 89 from Brgy. Mandalagan and Abkasa.
The CHO also said circumcision, aside from being a hygienic practice, is also a deterrent to penal cancer, and is recommended for adolescents aged 10 and up, the press release said.
Parents who wish to have their sons circumcised are advised to visit their barangay health centers for screening. Those qualified will be scheduled by the City Health Clinic, where the operation will be performed.
The free circumcision will continue until May, the press release added.*
