Honoring ‘319’

BUDDAI\

The Negros Cultural Foundation honored the late Gov. Joseph Marañon for his support of all their projects, through the “Pagdayaw” Award for Culture and Arts at the Social Hall, Provincial Capitol building, Bacolod, recently.

The Provincial Capitol chorale sang the Pambansang Awit and later serenaded the guests and audience with the late governor’s favorite song “Unforgettable,” which brought sentimental memories and misty eyes, especially to the ladies.

Lyn Gamboa welcomed everybody and Antique Gov. Sally Perez paid tribute to the late governor for his works, his integrity, competence and generosity.

The Pagdayaw Award was accepted by Aida Marañon, in behalf of her late husband, popularly known as “319”. She thanked all the mayors, other officials and relatives and friends who witnessed the awarding.

Gov. Isidro Zayco paid tribute to “319” whom he described as a true leader and a performing governor of Negros Occidental.

Buffet lunch followed. To 319 we will always remember you!

Remember: “With faith that every Negrense continues to participate in our governance and development initiatives, my team and I hope to see the province soar to even greater heights and meet the present challenges and beyond.” --- The late Gov. Joseph Marañon*
