Rubberized tract
oval completed

The P19-million rubberized track was completely installed just in time for the Philippine Olympics Visayas Elimination to be held in July at the Gov. Mariano Perdices Coliseum in Dumaguete City.

Provincial engineer Susano Ruperto said yesterday the oval tracks have nine lanes. The eight tracks will be used for track and field competition, and the ninth will be open to the public for jogging and practice.

Ruperto said that when it becomes operational, the Provincial Sports Management Board will collect a minimum fee for those using the race track.

Meanwhile, provincial sports coordinator Buddy Ravello  said  they  plan to organize  a  group  to handle track  and  field  and  other  sports  activities.

He said the  Gov. Mariano Perdices Coliseum  is  presently  the  most  sophisticated  and  modern race track  in the country.*MA
