3 sisters say
pastor raped them
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

Three sisters complained to the police that they were molested by their own father, the pastor of a religious sect, in Brgy. Canlamay, Ilog, Negros Occidental, police said.

Senior Inspector Gabriel Gutierrez, Ilog police chief, yesterday said the 45-year-old pastor of the religious sect called as “Bagong Simbahan Apostolico” and whose identity is being withheld, was turned over to them by Sgt. Hilario Peñaranda and Canlamay Brgy. Capt. Elizabeth Buncio, after the scandal broke out in the barangay Monday.

Gutierrez said the eldest of the three daughters, now 22 years old, was molested by her father, in November 3, 1993, when she was only eight years old.

He added that the two other daughters of the pastor, 18 and 14 years old, were also molested on April 8 and 17, 2007, respectively.

The pastor volunteered to stay at the Ilog Police Station, pending the filing of rape charges against him, for fear of being harmed by members of the family of his wife, but denied having molested his daughters.

Gutierrez, however, said he admitted having mauled his 18-year-old daughter who left their home in June last year without permission, and returned December 29, with her live-in partner.

Police investigations show the 18-year-old who was allegedly molested twice by her father, left their home as she could not endure the way her farther treated her.

Gutierrez said medical examinations on the three victims showed signs that they had been molested.

Rape charges are expected to be filed by the Ilog police against the pastor today or tomorrow, as the victims have already executed their affidavits.

Gutierrez said the pastor said he intends to have a dialog with his three daughters and his wife.*GPB
