3-vehicle accident

BY PATRICK PANGILINAN

A motorcycle driver was injured when he figured in a triple-vehicle collision along Araneta Street, Bacolod City, after 10 p.m. Saturday night, the police said yesterday.

Frich Jon Roquero, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained minor wounds on his arms when his motorcycle bumped into the rear of Brgy. Tangub Kagawad Jose Flomantes’ jeepney, after the pick-up vehicle of Rogelio Buenafe Jr. also collided with Flomantes’ vehicle, PO2 Regino Rex Eduardo of the Traffic Management Unit, said.

Roquero, of Purok Seaside, Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod, was treated by rescuers after the incident, which, Eduardo said, happened when Buenafe went out of his lane.

Based on his initial investigation, Eduardo said, Buenafe who was traveling from south to north, swerved into the lane and hit Flomantes’ jeepney.

He also said the three men have told him that they may just settle the incident.

From January to March this year, the TMU has recorded 19 deaths from vehicular accidents, mostly involving motorcycles.*PP
