Class ’73, ’62
gain upperhand
 

Class '73 Globelines and Class '62 face the possibility of being beaten twice after topping the elimination in their divisions of the Negros Occidental High School Inter-Class Alumni Bowling Tournament tonight at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

The Globelines took the No.1 spot on the last day of the series after posting 14,802 pinfalls.

Class '68 slipped down to second, with 14,770, while Class '66 and Class '74 were third and fourth.

The two squads will battle for the right to face Class '68 in the semi-final round at 5:30 p.m. today.

The survivor will make the finals in the premiere Class A division against the defending champion Class '73 Globelines headed by Butch Villagracia.

In Class B category, Class '80 battles Class '71 in the quarterfinals, and the winner will go up against No. 2 Class '70 in the semifinals, for the chance to challenge the No. 1 finalist Class '62/54 combine led by Jun Garrucho for the title.

Awardees in the individual competition were master bowlers Felipe Boy Romero, of Class '73 and Eva Khubchand, of Class '68; George Alacrito, of Class '72 and his teammate Danny Esteban in highest single and pinning with 144 and 97 pinfalls, while Cesar Sumaylo, of Class '82 in highest triple  at 392 in the men's bracket; while Ruby Cordero and Tammy Sumugat, of Class '84 in  highest pinning and single with  96 and 155 balls, Leda Exito, of Class '65 in triple with 347 in the women's department.

Class '68 and Class '66 won the team's highest single and triple at 578 and 1,638 pinfalls, respectively.*HLG
