Zamboanguita seeking
deportation of foreigner

BY MARICAR ARANAS

A Dutch national was declared “persona non grata” by the Sanguniang Bayan of Zamboaguita, Negros Oriental, in a unanimous resolution approved Tuesday.

It also sought the deportation from the Philippines of Dutch national Huvertos Stille, 57, who is married to a Filipina and is presently residing at Sitio Dalakit, Barangay Basak, Zambonguita.

Mayor Kit Mark Adanza had filed several criminal complaints against Stille, who, police reports said, was allegedly intoxicated with liquor, and had ran amuck inside the residential compound of the mayor Sunday.

Investigation further showed that, before the incident, Stille was having a drinking spree with his father-in-law, whom he later punched.

Probers said Stille tried to get inside the house by banging the front door, and asked for an ambulance from Adanza to bring his father-in-law to a hospital.

Adanza told the police he tried to calm the suspect and told him the ambulance was unserviceable. Instead, he sent another vehicle to bring the victim to the hospital, but Stille refused to listen, attempted to attack him, and uttered invectives against the mayor and the Filipino people, until Adanza called for police assistance.

Town chief of police, Senior Insp. Domeniciano Distrito Jr., said Stille’s neighbors had filed harassment complaints against him in the past.

Adanza filed charges for qualified trespass to dwelling, direct assault on a person in authority and grave oral defamation against Stille at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.

A copy of the resolution was sent to the Bureau of Immigration for appropriate action, Adanza said.*MA
