| A memorandum of agreement on the use of the crime laboratory of the Negros Oriental State University by the Philippine National Police was signed during the recent Metro Dumaguete Peace Advisory Council meeting in Dumaguete City.
NORSU president Dr. Henry Sojor yesterday said they will also field their Criminology students as auxiliary police in Dumaguete.
Sojor said the use of the crime laboratory is their way of helping the police to fast-track the investigation of crimes in Negros Oriental.
The MOA will also benefit Criminology students as they will have hands-on experience on actual crime laboratory procedures.
Meanwhile, Sojor said that during their practicum, Criminology students from NORSU will train on the correct way of writing police blotter entries, and the proper conduct of investigation.
He challenged the police trainees from NORSU to keep the peace in Dumaguete.*MA
