P3.4M surplus in ’07

The Kabankalan Government Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative has realized a net surplus of P3.407 million in 2007, from only P965,000 in 2005, KABGEM said in a press release.

Its assets have grown from P4.7 million in 2005 to P32.575 million in 2007, the press release also said.

KABGEM president Rogelio Diaz reported the financial status of the cooperative during their 4th General Assembly last April 4 at the city function room attended by 772 members.

Diaz was reelected chairperson of the board of directors in the automated election held during the assembly, the press release said.

Nestor Bayona, Capitol executive assistant and CAPGEM consultant, the assembly speaker, said the financial growth of the cooperative reflects the trust and confidence of the members and the value of self-reliance as enshrined in its vision, the press release said.

Kabankalan Mayor Pedro Zayco Jr. assured the KABGEM members of support from the city government.

This year’s assembly theme touches on the need to save money for a better future which is in line with the cooperative’s recent launching of Members Savings Operation.

Other elected board members are Val Bachita, Jesse Tanmoya and Adelina Tomaro. The credit committee is composed of  Harriet Diaz, Marie Antonette Malantar, Ma. Elena Silva; grievance and conciliation, Sandra Arellano, Jennifer Ortaliz, Letecia Maravilla; audit and inventory, Rachel Catague, Grace Sablaon, Imelda Socion; and elections, Erwin Martir, Alita Repique, Lawrence Tubola, the press release added.*
