No hasty CARP
decision for Kako

Rep. Jose Carlos “Kako” Lacson (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) yesterday said he does not believe in a hasty decision on the fate of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program after it ends in June.

“The president has made mention of the continuation of the agrarian reform program along with House Speaker Prospero Nograles, so I think these are already signs of commitment.  Sometimes haste makes waste,” he said.

Lacson said he is not saying the CARP should not continue, he is just saying that time should be taken to set it right.

“The law cannot be implemented as it originally was. A lot of amendments need to be made in order to strengthen the agrarian reform program,” he said.*
