The Balanan Lake Development Authority will collect regular fees at the Balanan Lake Resort, the biggest in Negros Oriental, and located in Siaton town, which will open on May 19, Gov. Emilio Macias II said yesterday.

Bobby Flores-Villasis of the Provincial Tourism Office said the resort has been visited by hundreds of trekkers. 

A project of Macias, Balanan, which is located 60 kilometers from Dumaguete City, grew around a 24-hectare lake that is said to have been formed when an earthquake flung rocks downstream and erected a dam. 

Macias said entrance to the resort is free every Tuesday.*RG
