| A surprise random drug testing was conducted by the Siquijor Philippine National Police among its personnel recently, police provincial director, Senior Supt. Orlando Ualat said yesterday.
This is a continuing program to eliminate scalawags and misfits in the Siquijor.PNP, Ualat said. He added that they have received information through their police hotline that some police officers in the province are suspected drug users.
Insps. Josephine Llena and Ramonit Javier from the Negros Oriental Provincial Crime Laboratory collected the specimen for the testing, results of which will be announced later.
Meanwhile, a student of the Negros Oriental State University in Dumaguete City is facing charges for violating sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Charged for illegal possession and selling of marijuana was Eugene Rado, a sophomore BS Electronics student who was arrested during a buy-bust operation by the Task Force 24 in Barangay Candau-ay earlier this week.
