to start at La Salle
BY NIDA BUENAFE

Action starts at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City today for the April 8-10 Visayas leg of the Nestea Beach Volleyball Tournament, with St. Gabriel College men’s team going up against University of the Visayas in the opener set at 7 a.m at the USLS sandcourt.

Coach Malot Lozada of the USLS team said the tournament will adopt a modified double elimination format with the Top 3 teams advancing to the national finals set in Boracay Island on April 24-26.

Seeing action in the women’s division are 19 teams from different schools in the Visayas while 12 teams are competing in the men’s category.

With USLS men’s and women’s squad considered as seeded teams, both automatically advance to the next round of the tournament.

The event will have an opening program at 2 p.m. in USLS.

Teams to watch out for are University of San Carlos, which won the men’s event last year, and University of Cebu, that reigned in the women’s category.*NAB
