| The Bacolod Medical Specialists Clinic located at the ANESA Building, Aquino Drive, Shopping, Bacolod City celebrated its 45th anniversary recently.
The BMS was founded in March 1963 by a group of physicians, diplomats and fellows to provide medical-surgical-dental services in western Visayas.
Dr. Antonio Sarabia – EENT-Consultant, is a founding member of the BMS.
The present specialists members of the BMS Clinic include Drs. Suyen de Leon Magallanes – OB-GYN, Miguel Sarabia – Opthalmology, Luciene Villacin – Cardiology – Internal Medicine; Romela Tiplex–Ruiz – Infectious Desease – Internal medicine; Rodolfo Escalona Jr. – General Surgery; Gabriel Hinolan – General Surgery; Bel Manuel Magallanes – Otolaryngology; Marie Rita Araneta – DDM; Ledi Almaiz-Tan – OB-GYN; Salve Sedonio-Jesena – Pediatrics; Ceed Dumancas – Torres – DDM; Eduardo Ordonez – Clinical Laboratory – Pathology; Pablo Estacion – Radiology.
Founding members of the BMS clinic who are now deceased include Drs. Lycia Capiral, Raquel Canlas-Estrebillo, Vicente Delumpa, Teodoro Javelosa, Nicanor Torres, Rodolfo Escalona, Sr. Rogelio Zulueta, Patricio Tan, Ernesto Namin and Nenita Almaiz.

Medical mission conducted
The Pontevedra Women’s Council conducted a medical mission at the compound of the Saint Michael Academy in Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, recently, a press release from organizers said.
The event was in cooperation with the Dr. Pablo O. Torre Foundation and the Lions Club of Negros Occidental.
Chairperson Alore Tambanillo of the Pontevedra Council for Women, said the mission catered to 215 medical cases both adult and children. The group also circumcised 75 children in the municipality, and gave medicine to patients, the press release said.
The club also organized a feeding program for 150 identified malnourished children and lactating mothers.
This activity was part of the women’s month celebration on the theme “CEDAW ng Bayan: Yaman ng Kababaihan! (Convention for the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women).”
The activity was supported by Mayor Jose Maria Alonso and the Sangguniang Bayan through the Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Theresa Dimalaluan, the press release added.*

Bosconians build
religious structure
The Don Bosco School has built a chapel, the first to be constructed during the stay of the Bosconians in Dumaguete City, a press release from the school said.
The St. John Bosco Chapel, located within the school campus, was designed by Ned Carlos, the press release said.
The cross and figure of the Risen Christ are illuminated from the sidewalls with the white light, and the whole altar area glows. The altar table and lectern are finished in red and white terrazzo.
The chapel was designed to exploit natural ventilation, with concealed windows from the sidewalls. The choir area has decorative circular holes, the press release also said.*

Alumni reunion set
The Carlos Hilado Memorial State College – Alijis Campus, formerly known as the Bacolod City National Trade School and Paglaum State College-Alijis, in Bacolod City will hold its general alumni homecoming on April 27, a press release from organizers said.
Hosted by the Silver Jubilarians Batch ’83, the theme for the alumni homecoming is “Aton Eskwelahan Dumdumon Ta”.
The host class is now forming committees for the affair.
