NPA rebel yields

Another member of the New People's Army may avail of the Balik-Baril program of the government, after surrendering a firearm to the 61st Infantry Battalion in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, the military yesterday said.

1Lt. Ronald Putol, 61st IB Civil Military Operations officer, yesterday said the surrender of Randy de Baguio, alias Ka Rex, brought to 13 the number of rebels who have surrendered guns to the 61st IB since August last year.

De Baguio, 25, of Brgy. Buenavista, Himalayan City, is an active member of the 1st platoon of the Central Negros Front of Komiteng Rehiyonal- Negros.

Military records show that De Baguio had also surrendered a homemade caliber.38 revolver on April 2.

De Baguio, who said he joined the rebel movement in December last year, belongs to a platoon under alias Andy, that is operating in the hinterlands of Brgy. Tanlad and Lag-it in Tayasan, in Negros Oriental.*GPB
