| Affairs to remember
It was a night of glitz and glamour as 117 young Scholastican students gathered at the grand ballroom of L’Fisher Hotel, Bacolod City, for their junior prom.
The girls came dressed as queens of the night in their designer gowns, while their gentlemen escorts were dashing in their tuxedos.
The ballroom was transformed into an old Hollywood theme. Each table was covered in black with an offwhite tops and red roses in bags of silver satin served as centerpieces.
The entire ballroom was draped in white, flowing freely from the ceiling downwards. The stage was reminiscent of an old mansion window accented by lush greens. Everyone had a grand time in a night of seemingly endless dancing and fun.
Cotillion participants rendered Tango and Foxtrot with elegance and style. The students voted among themselves whom they considered for titles of the night. The organizing committee, composed of parents headed by Nanette Yapjoco, had a hard time in tabulating the results. The awards were given on stage by yours truly and Buddai Piccio.
The ladies went home with a small personalized black velvet pillow with a silver shoe necklace, while the gentlemen had personalized cans with chocolates.
Kudos to the Juniors of SSA headed by their batch Governor Angela Vargas, who won as Prom Queen and Joey Javellana as Prom King.

La Salle Bacolod Batch ’83 spearheaded a reunion for a cause at Santuario de La Salle, recently. It was a well-attended affair with various batches coming in full force. One of the chosen beneficiaries for that night was Bahay Pag-Asa, a home for abused children managed by the Capuchin Sisters.
After three years of planning, the homecoming finally paid off with the success of the raffle for the less fortunate.
Congratulations to the organizers, the core group Jubilarians. The core group was composed of Martin Cuaycong, Nicky Burgos, Edwin Urdonez, Jojo Fuentes, Butch Gabayeron, Biboy Solinap, Vice Mayor Rex Depasucat, Anton Dadivas, Manolito Lopez, Jimmy Maravilla, and Jimmy Feliciano.*
