Youth summer camp set at FU
BY MARICAR ARANAS

The  Youth  for  Environment Summer Camp for grade  school, high  school  and  college  students will  be  held May 4 to 8 at Foundation University, in Dumaguete City.

The camp was initiated by the Department of Education center  for  students and  co-curricular affairs, Foundation University  and  the  Department of Environment and Natural Resources, DepEd–CSCA Executive Director Joey Pelaez said yesterday.

He said the camp is aimed at promoting awareness among the youth on the importance of protecting and preserving the environment.

The camp will focus on the discussion about global warming and climate change, adding that these issues must be  inculcated in the minds of the students, he also said.

Other activities during the encampment are the establishment of a seedling nursery bank, a clean-up drive, and planting of trees.*MA
