A grand juniors prom

A Juniors Prom on the theme “A Night of Glitz and Glamour” was held by St. Scholastica’s Academy Batch 2008 at the La Proa Ballroom of L’Fisher Hotel, Bacolod City, recently.

The Juniors themselves planned the event, with support from the group of parents headed by Nanette Yapjoco. Beng Villanueva took charge of the physical arrangement.

The ladies were dazzling in their beautiful gowns, and were accompanied by their handsome and debonair gentlemen partners. Ching Guanzon choreographed the medley dance of Tango, Cha-cha and Foxtrot.

Batch Governor Angela Vargas welcomed everybody present while March Chua sang the National Anthem, and the prayer was led by Altrixia Lorente.

The dinner was followed by an election by the Juniors of the Prom Queen and her Princesses.

Moi, Radjie Caram and the parents had a hard time tabulating the results which ended with a tie between the two top contenders. We decided to again raffle their names.

Chosen Prom Queen was Ma. Angela Vargas with Prom King Joey Javellana.

Prom Princesses and Prince were Adie Montelibano and Anton Lopez, Princess Nimanand and Jan Que, and Danica Regalado and Philip Cordero. Mrs. and Mrs. Congeniality were Kathy Torre and Austin Tan, Cutest Couple – Kris Sheena Julom and Philip Perez, Wackiest Couple -- Blossom Villanueva and Jaffle Lacson, Sweetest Couple – Hannah Abilo and Angelo Lizares, Head Turner was Ruby Balquin, and the Total Makeover award went to Airam de Asis.

It was indeed a night to remember with the Juniors. With the guidance of their teachers and some parents, everybody enjoyed dancing….
