| A Basic Digital Photography course will be held at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos in Bacolod City April 7-10, a UNO-R press release said.
This is a joint project of the University and the Overseas Pinoy Professional Photographers Society based in Dubai.
This certificate program will be conducted by Jonathan Fortu, a Dubai-based Negrense professional photographer, who has been giving basic photography courses here and abroad. First session will start on April 7 at 8 a.m. at UNO-R SA 101, the press release said.
The program is aimed at introducing to participants basic knowledge of handling, knowing functions, using techniques, and using photography as an art.
The program will end with a grand outdoor session, and an overnight experience for the participants to maximize the capacity of digital photography during night time and dawn, the press release said.
The course is limited only to 30 participants, and booking will be on a first come, first served basis.

Medical missions held
The Kiwanis Club of Metro-Bacolod, a member of Kiwanis International, led by Babylin Drilon, conducted a medical mission and blood-letting activity in Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod recently, a press release from the group said.
A total of 263 beneficiaries, 125 adults and 138 children, availed of medical consultations in Barangay Mandalagan, in the mission conducted in cooperation with the Office of Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Barangay Captain Elvis Agsam, president-elect Elma Gumahin and Drs. Grace Tan and Carmela Gensoli.
The blood-letting produced 4050 cc of blood which was donated to the Philippine National Red Cross, the press release said.
Later, Kiwanians also conducted a blood-letting activity at Robinson’s Place, jointly with the PNRC, and just recently, the group and the Bacolod City Health Office gave free medical consultations and medicines to about 319 beneficiaries in Barangay Villamonte, the press release also said.
The club is set to give free consultations and medicines on April 19 in another barangay of Bacolod, the press release added.*
