| A reality talent search called “Pinoy Idol” over GMA-7 will kick off its grand debut Saturday, right after Pinoy Records, a press release from the network said.
After scouring the archipelago for the prime batch of aspirants, Pinoy Idol will commence its selection among the 179 hopefuls who received gold tickets to battle it out in the competition, a local franchise of American Idol, the press release said.
GMA Network Inc., who holds the airing rights of the localized Idol franchise, also acquired the license of other Fremantle shows like Celebrity Duets and Whammy.
Raymond Gutierrez will host the show.
The three judges will be well-respected starmaker and talent-manager Wyngard Tracy, one of the country’s most sought-after singer and songwriter Ogie Alcasid and singer-actress-host Jolina Magdangal.
The talent search is for Filipinos who aspire of becoming the next singing sensation to break records and create headlines, the press release added.*

Wedding fair set at mall
The biggest names in event management, fashion design, photo and video coverage, catering and other wedding related industries will gather for the Wedding Fair 2008, April 7-13, at the Fountain Area, Robinsons Place in Bacolod City, a press release from organizers said.

Livelihood
training seminar held
A livelihood training seminar on accessories was participated in by mothers in Barangay 15, Bacolod City, recently, a press release from organizers said.
After the training, a cooperative will be formed where participants can sell their finished products, Barangay Captain Anjo Ayco said.
The training was conducted in cooperation with the Directress of SGV Accounting firm in Manila, who will conduct the auditing of the book of account of the proposed cooperative.
Ayco said the representative from SGV will also conduct free art lessons for children in Barangay 15 this summer. He also encouraged business owners in the barangay to support the livelihood project, the press release added.*
