| Gov. Isidro Zayco yesterday expressed opposition to the assignment in Negros Occidental of 12 policemen who had been relieved from their posts in Iloilo and Guimaras for alleged involvement in illegal activities.
The governor said the province should not be made a dumping ground for policemen facing complaints and he will talk to PNP provincial director Senior Supt. Rosendo Franco about it.
Zayco said he will let Franco know his opposition on the assignment of these erring policemen, adding that they could be assigned anywhere except in Negros Occidental.
Chief Supt. Isagani Cuevas, police regional director, had earlier said change of assignment for “effective” policemen is part of the transformation program of the PNP.
Cuevas said no case was established against the cops who were being assigned to Negros Occidental due to lack of evidence.
What these policemen need is a “reformation” to make them effective in implementing the laws and maintenance of peace and order, he said.
The policemen and their new assignments are SPO1 Reynaldo Alan – Don Salvador Benedicto Police Station; SPO3 Anthony Gabiano – Toboso Police Station; SPO1 Rex de los Reyes – Ilog Police Station; SPO1 Ferdinand Garcia – Victorias City Police Station; SPOI Arnold Alabansas – Manapla Police Station; SPO2 Rene Donasco – Sipalay City Police Station;
SPO1 Gerard Rojo – Himamaylan City Police Station; SPO1 Fred Blones – La Castellana Police Station; SPO3 Salvador Gonzalesa, Isabela Police Station; PO1 Godofredo Jamolo – Candoni Police Station; PO1 Anthony Grande – NOPPO; PO1 Neil Bana – 6th RMG and SPO3 Julius Froilan.*NAB
