| PPA shuts down port Fearing further bloodshed and destruction of property, the Philippine Ports Authority yesterday ordered the temporary stoppage of operations at the Dumaguete City port starting today. The directive, which comes on the heels of a melee between striking union members of the port and the Dumaguete City Police Saturday, came from general manager Oscar Sevilla. Sevilla said the decision was approved by top PPA officials in an effort to prevent further bloodshed and destruction of properties the port, and to ensure the security of its employees. | ||||||||||||||||
