| An Army soldier died, while 11 were injured in vehicular accidents all involving motorcycles in Negros Occidental, Saturday and Sunday, police records show.
Private First Class Jose Bernie Nesecito, of the Philippine Army 3rd Civil Affairs Unit, died after midnight Sunday at the Bacolod Adventist Hospital, from injuries incurred in a motorcycle accident in Tangub, Bacolod City.
Senior Inspector Levi Pangue, chief of the Bacolod police Traffic Management Unit, said Necesito, 33, lost his balance and fell from his motorcycle, Saturday at the road being constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highway at Bangga San Roque in Brgy. Tangib, Bacolod City.
Nesecito suffered injuries in the head and body, and was rushed to the hospital, but expired at 12:03 Monday, Pangue said.
Witnesses said the scene of incident is not lighted.
Nesecito had served the Philippine Army for almost five years.
On the other hand, the 11 injured in three other vehicular accidents in Bacolod City, Hinigaran and Cauayan on Saturday and Sunday were identified as Gideon and Georgette Verde, Jimmy But-ang, couple Erlinda and Venaro But-ang, Arsenio Dior, Richard Rolan, Ira Barbas and Monalisa Lee, Serge Sanit and his daughter, Princess, 9.
Verde and his companion, on board a motorcycle, reportedly rammed a cargo truck parked on the highway in Brgy. Tagda, Hinigaran, Saturday.
Magbulotan and three others were also riding on a motorcycle, and collided with a tricycle with two passengers, Sanit and his daughter, along the highway in Brgy. Inayawan, Cauayan, Sunday.
Meanwhile, Rolan, Barbas and Lee got minor injuries after their motorcycle also collided with a taxi cab driven by a certain Jolito Pingcas along the highway of Brgy. Mandalagan in Bacolod City, on Saturday.*GPB
