girls advance to finals
 

University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos registered seven points to top the girls’ 15-Under Central Division of the NOFA Grassroots Football Festival at the West Negros College pitch in Bacolod City Sunday.

Also advancing is second-ranked Handumanan United, which finished with 5 points in the division that drew eight teams. Already qualified are Ma-ao United and UNO-R Team B, a NOFA press release said.

Meanwhile, Bacolod Tay Tung High School-A pulled the rug from under Handumanan United, posting 10 points to snatch a place in the provincial finals on April 12 in Bago City. Newcomer St. Benilde School finished third, the press release added.

In the Under-13 division, two Ma-ao United squads moved into the provincial finals, along with Handumanan United. The teams posted eight points each.

Also expected to see action in the provincial finals are Bago City FC and Andres Bonifacio Elementary School. The Central Division leg drew 20 teams spread on four divisions. *
